In Swedish massage, people should make circular pressures with their thumbs on the muscles between the ribs. They should start at the sternum and work out in a series of rows toward the shoulders. People need to vary the pressure according to the partner's needs and finally finish with more stroking and must avoid any firm movements on the sensitive tissue around the breasts.

For abdomen massage people should place a small pillow under the knees to relax the abdomen. Facing across the body, need to place one hand on the lower ribs and the other below the navel; then should stroke their lower hand slowly and lightly around the navel in a clockwise direction. People should u the fingers of one hand to apply gentle, circular pressures. People need to work around the navel, increasing the pressure as their partner relaxes. Using flat palms, they should knead the top of the abdomen by rhythmically pushing the flesh from one hand to the other and then should knead each side of the abdomen with a deeper movement. It is good to place one palm on top of the other, below the rib cage on the left side of the abdomen. Contract the upper forearm to create a trembling movement (vibration) in the hands, then slowly should pull the hands toward the pelvis and continue around in a clockwise direction.
